Proteomics Basics

Interaction Proteomics

Interaction proteomics involves the investigation of protein interactions on the atomic, molecular and cellular levels.

Interaction proteomics may include:

  • protein modifications and interactions to them ie. phosphorylation of protein and interactions to that modification on that protein
  • protein-protein interactions ; assessed classically with the yeast-2 hybrid method.
  • protein-DNA ; includes transcription factors interactions with DNA and protein-DNA interactions.
  • protein-RNA interactions ; includes translational factors interactions with RNA and protein-RNA interactions.
